Honolulu Biennial Foundation Launches New Program Initiative

On February 23, the Honolulu Biennial Foundation (HBF) announced the launch of their new programming initiative, Visions of the Future. As part of the initiative, HBF will be presenting up to ten in-house and guest curated exhibitions, talks and workshops per year, all focused on themes of the future and the unity of humanity. These events are distinct from and will take place between the Honolulu Biennials.
Visions of the Future will debut on March 21 with the exhibition “Flooded,” which will tackle the issue of climate change and its impact on our food and culture. The show will comprise a collaborative project by photographer Heami Lee, researcher Allie Wist, prop stylist Rebecca Bartoshesky and herbalist CC Buckley. There will also be an artist talk featuring sculptor and multidisciplinary practitioner Chris Ritson, and two educational workshops.
With Visions of the Future, the HBF hopes to develop its between-biennial programming as part of its commitment to the Honolulu arts community.
