As of August 25, more than 350 artists, art professionals, and organizations have signed an open letter calling for the United States government to include Afghan cultural workers as at-risk individuals in its evacuation plan. Currently, evacuees are largely restricted to US passport and green-card holders, and applicants for the Special Immigrant Visa who worked for or have connections with US forces and agencies.
