Change can be bumpy, even at big institutions. The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA)’s director Youn Bum-mo faced scrutiny over an audit report in January before he resigned on April 18 under pressure for his political affiliations with the previous president. In mid-September, Youn Bum-mo’s replacement was announced: Kim Sung-hee, the former executive director and cofounder of the nonprofit CAN Foundation.
